The Connection and the Friends of the Connection are deeply saddened to hear the news John Pudney passed away last week.
In the 1960s, John led the Social Care Unit (the equivalent of and a predecessor of The Connection) and was responsible for purchasing St Martin’s House. He went on to live there with his family for five years — alongside people experiencing homelessness. This extraordinary commitment shaped the values that still guide the work of the Connection today.
Those who met John will remember him for his grounded, compassionate approach to working with people experiencing homelessness.
We send our deepest condolences to John’s wife Cilla, his family, and all who knew and loved him. We are very grateful for his life, his service, and his lasting contribution to The Connection.
